Hello everyone,
I'm back with our Tips/Technique Hop with Skipping Stones Design.
I have a tip and a technique and I'll start with the technique. The art of adding dots to embellish anything. I have seen this from a few other crafty friends and if you add three bigger dots in a triangle format and the add in lots of little ones around it gives it a more natural look.
For the Tip part, it's something lots of people still cringe about when they see this happen and it's cutting your stamps. I was one of those who did that but when I did it for the first time I realized that it was so much easier and faster to just cut it apart then to mask one end off and then the other end. When ever I did that I would forget the tape on and end up with a mess on my project.
It's okay, they don't scream or cry when you do this, I promise :)
I did some ink blending to the bottom of the card base and with the new Harty Hello set and stamped the sentiment in Versafine onyx black ink.
We hope you'll hop along with us as one lucky commenter will win a stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Deletehey there... sweet:) i love the color of that ink.. do you mind tracking me back to tell me what kind of ink you blended with? so gorgeous.. and that is a tip i need to learn how.. to be brave and cut up my stamps.. OUch! ;0)
ReplyDeleteI used Simon Says Stamp Hollyhock ink. It is a beautiful pink with a slight blue undertone I think. Either way I love it too. :)
Deleteoh i forgot to check back here with you..thanks so much for replying and pardon my late reply! sure is neat to hear what all these inks do.. my favorite seem to be pigment inks cuz i love soft and silky looking cards:)
DeleteYes, I am cringing at the thought of cutting my stamp. I have good luck with masking, but maybe someday I will work up the courage to do some stamp surgery. Love your card and the dots are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI cried at first but I keep forgetting to take off the tape before I do my stamping, so for me this is easier than throwing out so many projects. LoL! Thanks for your sweet comments.
DeleteSuper cute card!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! <3
DeleteThis is gorgeous and a great technique and tip. I cut up my stamps all the time - it really makes them so much more versatile! :)
