Tips / Techniques Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

It's time for our monthly tip/techniques hop and I have a tip for you.

I would with a craft mat and I found mine way to big for my workspace.  I went and cut mine up so that I didn't have to fight with it to keep it flat as these are stored rolled up and I would have to tape it down.  I still wanted a bigger piece but sometimes I only need something small so as you see below this is how I "chopped it up"!

This allows me to keep these under my grey mat that you see in the picture and they stay flat so I don't have to fight to try and keep it down when I'm working.  They live under there and are ready when ever I need them.

My card today was made using my smaller craft mat by don't some ink smooshing for the heart die cut.  I used the sweet elephant from the mini set Elephant End and for the banner die cut I heat embossed the Timeless Textures in white just to add a bit of interest and I did the same with the sentiment on the heart die cut from the Hearty Hello set.

Be sure to hop along with the other DT members to see lots of amazing inspiration and great tips/techniques.  Be sure to head over to the shop to see all the wonderful stamps sets that you've seen along the hop!

  1. What an adorable tag!! Love the embossed background - so precious! Your tip on the craft mat is a great idea - I never thought about cutting mine down.

    1. Thanks Christy! It was a little scary but it certainly was worth it.

  2. A really sweet tag Coralynn.
I accidentally cut a strip off of my mat a couple years ago so I taped it back together and stuck it down to my self healing mat but wasn't happy with it. Recently I saw on one of the blogs I follow where they wrapped it around a clipboard and taped it to the back. Its still portable, you can turn it when needed but its not as slippery to work with on your desk top.
