A Blog Named Hero January 2017 Challenge

Hello everyone,

We are half way through January already and into the second half of our New to Me challenge over at A Blog Named Hero.  The challenge this month is use something new and our sponsor is Right at Home for January.

I used the tea cut from the Cup of Joy set and the sentiment from the How Have You Bean set.  I love tea more than coffee and wanted to use it on my card for today.  I stamped the image with HA intense black ink and coloured it in with my copics.  I added the flowers with HA great and red ink to make it look like an old fashioned china cup.

I added a piece of woodgrain patterned paper brown paper so it looked like the tea cup was sitting on a table and then added the sentiment to that with the same intense black ink.

And then after adhering all the elements to m card I'm sitting there staring at it because it seemed that there was something missing.  So as an after-thought I covered up the cup and paper and added some ink splatters with some black paint and added a couple of gems from my stash.

AAA Cards - Game #81 "Hello"

Hello everyone,

We are back with our first AAA Cards game of 2017!  I hope you all enjoyed the holidays. We had a very good Christmas with family.

I decided to make two cards for todays game.  For my first one, I used the MFT hello die and cut it out of the centre of my front panel.  I then took the Hero Arts striped background stamp and inked it up with the Lilac to Purple and cut a piece just big enough to cover the Hello.  I then stamped the sentiment with HA black dye ink from the Hello stamp and die set.  I then added fun foam to the back of the panel and then added it to an A2 sided card base. 

For the second card I used the positive die cut from the same piece of paper and adhered that to another card base and added a different sentiment from the same set with black ink.

Wish you were here - Studio Katia

Hello everyone!

I want to wish you all a Happy New Year!  2016 was full of great adventures and wonderful opportunities.  I want to thank you all for supporting me throughout the year.  I wouldn't be here without you.  Here's to 2017!  

I wanted to share card that I made with the wonderful goodies from Studio Katia sent me for the November release.  I used the Elongate Dotted Hexagon dies and I cut out two sizes out of MFT paper (summer splash and tropical teal) that I got in a kit from a while ago.  I also took the negative die cut paper and cut around the outside of it to make a frame. 

I did a bit of fussing with the pieces to get them in just the right place and adhered them down to the card base with Tombow Mono. 

I had a couple pieces left that I trimmed off the sides and I didn't want to waste them so I added them to the card as well to fill in some of the empty areas. 

For the sentiment I used the sentiment stamps that coordinate with the Foxes stamp set. In my package there was a sweet Thank You stamp and this little butterfly was there so I thought it would be perfect to add to finish off the sentiment.

MOS - Season's Greetings

Hello everyone,

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve already! Are you ready?  I actually am ready two days earlier this year which is saying a lot for me. 

For my card I used the ornament from the Trim the Tree set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I watercoloured in the image and I'm really into splatter lately so I wanted to use it on my card today as well. 

I used the sentiment from the Cardinal Greetings set and stamped it using Versafine Onyx black ink.  I then die cut the panel and added it to the black card front.  

I want to wish you all a wonderful holiday season and get to spend time with family and friends.

Merry Christmas - So Suzy Stamp GD

Hello everyone,

I am back with my final post for this month.  I have truly enjoyed guest designing for So Suzy Stamps and I want to thank everyone for the opportunity.

Now on with my card.  I used the same stamp as before and I did this on purpose so that when you're creating Christmas cards, sometimes you just can't make each and every card spectacular and unique even though you'd like to.  This was you can stamp the same image a few times and emboss them differently and colour them in or leave them as is for different looks but easier for you.

I stamped the image with Versamark clear sticky ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder on to a white panel.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark as well and used a black sparkly embossing power and heat set it on a piece of gold vellum from my paper stash.

  I added fun foam to the back of my white panel and added it to an A2 sized card base. 

I took the piece of gold vellum and took the ends and wrapped them around the front panel and taped them to the back so I didn't have to add adhesive to the front.

To finish my card I used the Nuvo Crystal Drops in gold and added dots around the card.  These are so much fun to use.  

 They work great on your card or added them to a craft sheet and making your own enamel dots.  I made a few with the white drops as you see below.

BRI #Hashtag Stamps Blog Hop

Hello everyone,

I'm super excited to be joining the BRI #Hashtag blog hop to promote the new collab stamp sets with BRI and Bossy Joscie. You should have come from the amazingly talented Laurie.

These sentiments are fabulous and fun to play with.  Links and the next in the hop are at the end of my post. 

I recently bought the Mission Gold watercolours and couldn't wait to use them.  I cut out a panel from a stitched rectangle die from Lawn Fawn and added the peacock watercolour.  I used my het gun to heat set the colour as I went because I wanted to have the harsh lines.  

I used Versamark ink and stamped the bold sentiments to the front panel and heat set with white embossing powder.  I then stamped the #hashtags with Hero Arts black dye ink under the bold sentiments.  To finish off the card I added some white Nuvo drops that I had made and called the card done.
