AAA Card Challenge #97 - Masking

Hello everyone,

We are back again with a new challenge with AAA Cards! 

We are having fun with masking and for my card I started out with the planets from the LF set Out of This World.  I stamped the sun in the middle first and then stamped out again on a piece of post it note to create a mask.  Then I continued to do the same with the remaining planets. 

I used my copics to colour the planets and the heart and as I'm looking at them writing out my post, one looks like a watermelon!  LoL!

I used three different stamp sets to put the sentiment together.  The "you are" and the "WORLD" are from the Out of This World set, the "MY" and the heart is from the "Octopi my Heart". 

I took the Puffy Cloud border dies and cut out the top to give it more of an outer space feel.  I went to add it to the card base and thought it was missing something so I added as small strip of black LF card stock and that did the trick. 

I added the front panel to the card base with my tape runner and this card is done.

You're Not Alone

Hello everyone,

I used the Altenew stamp set A Beautiful Day as well as their Sea Glass ink. I masked off the edges of an A2 sized card base with post-it note tape. I then took the smaller flower stamps in the set, the more dainty ones and stamped them with the Sea Glass ink.

Once I had filled in the area as much as I could, I removed the tape slowly so that I didn't tare the paper. I then stamped the sentiment with black ink overtop of the images. To finish off the card I added some dots that I made with the Nuvo Crystal Drops.

AAA Card Challenge Game #74 - Masking

Hello everyone!

We are back with a new AAA Cards game for you and it's Masking.

This is always a fun technique but I sometimes forget about it.  Fall is upon us and it is my absolute favourite time of year.  

For my card today I wanted to use the adorable Lawn Fawn mini set.  To start I took a piece of post it note and die cut with the scalloped circle die to create a mask.  I then added the negative piece to my card and ink blended the area with Willow ink.  

I took the sentiment and used my Mini MISTI to stamp the sentiment. I like using the MISTI when I stamp sentiments because I normally can't get anything straight even if I try and the die inks look best if you stamp them a couple of times. I then stamped and coloured in the apple pie with my copics and die cut with my Big Shot machine. I then added the little swirl over the pie and added the pie to the card with foam tape.

Lawnscaping Challenge - #137

Hello everyone,

It's been a long time since I played along with the Lawnscaping Challenges and this one was too good to pass up. It's a texture challenge and I was able to play with my new LF goodies and here is the card I came up with.  

On to my card.

I started by stamping out the apples in the basket image and instead of stamping the image onto a post it note, I used the coordinating die cut instead.  This way when I mask off the image it will leave the little border around it.  I added the grid stencil to the panel and then mixed up the translucent embossing paste with the Rusty Hinge distress ink.

After I removed the stencil and cleaned it and my craft surface off I allowed the paste to dry...yeah right, who am I kidding.  I didn't have the patience to wait so I was very careful when I coloured in the basket of applies with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

I cut out the front panel with the basic rectangle dies from SSS, added some natural twin from May Arts and popped it up with foam tape to a piece of rust coloured card stock from my local craft store.  I then die cut and added the LF scripty thanks die on top of the twine with liquid glue and finished of the card with some orange gems and added it all to an A2 sized card base.

Skipping Stones Design Tips / Technique Blog Hop

Hello everyone,

I have a tip and technique for you today today.

My technique is masking.  You can use most anything as a mask and I normally use sticky notes or actually masking paper.  With masking you always want to start with the image you want to be up front and then mask as you work back.

My tip is where I store my masks.  I keep them on the back of the carrier sheets for the stamps.  That way they are always there if you need them.  

Here is the card I created using the tips and techniques above.

I used the birdie from the Hippo Birdie Two Ewe stamp set along with the french fry.  I stamped the bird on the front panel, masked it off and then stamped the fry.  I then coloured in the images with my copics and popped up that front panel on to my card base.

I added the sentiment from the same stamp set, which makes me giggle every time I read it and added some enamel dots and some Wink of Stella that you can't see very well.

Happy Birthday - Lawn Fawn

Hi everyone,

I'm back with a card that I made for a family member.

I love watching Sandy Allnock when she creates the most stunning backgrounds and thought I would try my hand at it too.  I'm certainly not up there yet but I think it turned out okay and I hope you do too.

I did a lot of masking for this one but it's worth it because you get such great depth with your images. With that I will let the pictures tell the story and the list of supplies will be listed below.
