OCC Day 9 & 10

Hello everyone,

Today in class we are still using the floral stamps and how to use them in different ways.

Here is the card I made for Day 9.

I loved Jennifer's card and I used the WPlus 9 Spring Blooms Stamp set, WPlus 9 Whole Lotta' Happy  and a mix of Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp inks. When stamping the sentiment it's always a good idea to make sure you have the stamp right side up before heat embossing it (to quote the amazing Julie Ebersole "ask me how I know").

Luck for me it worked out and I had to trim up the bottom as I got red ink on it and I have no idea how it got there!  But again, it worked out.  I gold embossed the sentiment as well as highlights on the leaves.  For that I used my Versamark pen. It works just like a copic but has the VersaMark ink and you can put in the ink in the smallest of places.

Supplies:
WPlus9 Whole Lotta Happy
WPlus9 Spring Blooms
Hero Arts Forever Green
Hero Arts Sof Vanilla
Hero Arts Pale Tomato
Hero Arts Red Royal
SSS Green Apple
Martha Stewart gold embossing powder

Day 10

I took inspiration from Jean's card.  I used first and second generation stamping to give me the colour variation and you can't see it but I used Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the leaves.  I cut out three little fish by hand as I don't have any fish dies with scrap paper.  I then used clear embossing powder to make them shiny.  I also used a Viva Pealen-Pen in ice white to make the little bubbles.

Supplies:
SSS Green Apple
SSS Audrey Blue
VersaMark
Judikins clear embossing powder
Spellbinders standard circles large
Viva Perlen-Pen
Wink of Stella clear glitter pen
Cuttle Bug

Camp Scrap 2014

Hey again!

Here is something I did up last week for camp.   May had given us some guidelines but I found myself focusing on the requirements, 1,2,3,4 of any combination such as 1 stamp, 2 colours, 3 embellishments and so on.  I was so worried about getting the numbers right that I kind of through that to the side and just finished my project.  I did get some of the numbers on there but I'm not sure what they would be!

I like where this was going and I may try some of the elements on this canvas on a new project in the future.  I used cotton twine, a button, embossing paste, chipboard hearts and some stickers (bottom left corner) that came in one of my SSS card kits from last year.  I used Ranger cranberry alcohol ink and I did five spots of that colour.  I also layers some die cuts from a previous project and then covered it all with Gesso (Artist Loft - Michaels)

Thanks for stopping by!
See you soon,

Camp Scrap 2014 Workshop Winner! That would be me!

Hello everyone!

I'm back with a long overdue post.  A few weeks ago SSS had a chance to win Twitter, all 4 Classes offered in the Camp Scrap 2014 workshop by the talented May Flaum.  So I "Tweeted for a chance to win" and guess what?????  I won!  A BIG THANKS to Simon Says Stamp!

I have to admit that I wasn't sure about the class as I had never even attempted mixed media and wasn't sure if it was something I was going to enjoy.  Well let me tell you...I am having a wonderful and fun time exploring this new medium.  It's allowing me to just "go with it".

May is so talented and has such creativity that it's making me "let loose" with my creativity and I think this is something that I will keep doing even after class.

Click on the blog candy below for the giveaway post (this is the only one I could find but it's not the one I won on)

Click the link below to see what is happening in Camp!  It's worth it.  You don't have to purchase all four classes but they are ALL very interesting.

Now for my Week 1 project.  This is my VERY first mixed media project!

Supplies:
Acrylic paint (Michaels Craftsmart brand)
Embellishements (from numerous SSS CKOM)
Lawn Fawn Into the woods sequins
Tim Holtz stencil (Michaels)
5x7 canvas (Michaels)

I had to get supplies quickly as I found out that I won on the day the camp started.

I will see you again soon!
Thanks for stopping by.

This card I used my Spellbinders dies with the Recollections cards stock, a black gel pen and my copics along with a few sequins.

This one I also used the Avery Elle Handwriten Notes stamp set.

For this one, I used the Thanks die from SSS and the Lawn Fawn woodgrain background stamp and Tag you're it die set.

Hero Arts

Hello everyone,

Today I have two crds that i made with the Hero Arts OWH Lil Hoot stamp set.  I used my copics to colour in the image, I used some water colours I got from Michaels for the background and a gel pen to do the lines around the focal point.  I used Momento tuxedo back ink for the sentiment.

For this card I used the same stamp set and copics to colour it in but I added some thread and clear sequins.  I used Momento rich cocoa ink for the sentiment.

All the supplies used are either purchased at Michaels or Simons Says Stamp (the thread was purchased at Walmart)

Thanks for stoping by!
See you soon with more cards.

HCW Day 5

Hi everyone!

Here are my His and Hers cards for Day 5 of the Holiday Card Workshop.

I LOVE Laura Bassen, she is very talented and she just cracks me up!

So for my "Hers" card I took inspiration from Laura and found a stamp set (SSS CKOM) and found some stripe stamps.  She was right, this is a bit time consuming but a whole lot of fun!

I used the Hero Arts Red Royal and Pale Tomato shadow inks and used Versafine Onyx Black ink for the sentiment, whis is from the "Christmas" 3x4 stamp set from SSS.  I used the Jillibean twine that came in the Elegant Dec card kit from SSS, the special one and made a bow to use up some on the white space.

This is my "His" card which I took inspiration from Debbie (love her too!).  I used the Paper Smooches snowflakes dies and heat embossed them with the Martha Steward silver embossing powder.  I used the "Holiday Hellos" 3x4 stamp set from SSS and heat embossed it as well with Hero Art white embossing power (this is what happens when you only think to use your embossing buddy after you've turned on your hear tool!)

See you soon.

SSS Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes"

Hi everyone,

Here is the second card I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday "Anything Goes" Challenge.

I used the tree die and Thanks die from SSS and I distressed the edges of the white card stock.  This card is out of my comfort zone as I distressed the edges and used bakers twine.  I normally don't use either one on my cards but thought this would work for this one.

Hope you enjoyed my card.

CASE Study Challenge #162 "Woodsy"

Hello everyone,

Today I did a card with a "woodsy" feel to it.  I used woodgrain card stock from a SSS card kit (I have a few kits that it came) along with pattern paper, vellum and leaf sequins from Lawn Fawn (which came in the Oct CKOM from SSS)

The stamp set is from the SSS October card kit as well and the YOU is from Kelly Perky that came in one of the kits.

OCC Insider D2

Hi,

It's day 2 and this class is really making me stretch my crafting abilities!

For today's card we were to show off the inside through the outside.  Acetate was used in some of the cards and others where super long cards which were all great.

Here is my card for today.  I have to say that I have a love/hate relationship with Tombow mono multi glue.  I love it but when we get together, it gets messy... and not in a good way.  So you may see a hint of glue in places that there shouldn't be but I really didn't want to do this card over again.

If you have a look at my cards then you will notice that I actually used twine on my card today.  This is a first.  I know, true story!  I used the SSS "Thanks" stamp and die set.  I die cut the thanks and stamped the "for thinking of me".

I used Recollections cards stock and I cut the whole out with my MS craft knife and the acetate is from a die set that I purchased and put them with the stamps instead of keeping them in their own packaging.

I felt the card needed something more on the front so I added the dash lines and kept that going into the inside of the card.

Hope you enjoyed today's card and stay tuned for another one tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Safe Travels Card - SSS September CKOM

Hi everyone!

Here is a card I did with the SSS card kit of the month for September.

For the card I used Recollections white card stock.  It did start out at an A2 size card but when I was colouring the little car black it had dropped on the edge of the card smearing some black ink on it so I cut it down so it's more like 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 but I think it still looks ok.  I used Hero Arts shadow inks, pale tomato, butter bar and tide pool.  I cut out a circle with my MS circle cutter (which I cut my finger on the first time I started this card!) at 1 1/2 in then I used my Tombow mono to adhere the the car.

Hope you enjoyed the card for today.

Thanks for stopping by!
