Two Designers - One Stamp Set for CAS-ual Friday Stamps

Hello everyone,

I am super excited to be joining amazing talented design team member Kimberly (you can see her post here) for a fun collaboration.  Two designers, one stamp set.

We chose the Shenanigans stamp set, which has the best sayings. We chose to do rainbow colours with sequins and I was having so much fun that I made three cards.

So for my first card added a bit of Spun Sugar to the background and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onix Black ink.

I used a background die that cut out vertical strips and I used the negative pieces to make the candle sticks.  I then did some ink blending with a combination of Distress Oxide and regular Distress ink to create the rainbow and then did some water splatters for texture.  I used a leaf die to create the fire on top and ink blended those as well with distress ink. I popped them up with foam tape and added the sequins.  I always have the hardest time adding those.  You'd think I was performing surgery.  LoL!!!

For my second, there were leftovers from the candles and they were just too pretty to through out so I added them to a black background.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then again, did surgery with the sequins.

And for my last card, I had this background sitting on my desk and thought that a more masculine card would work so I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and heat embossed it with a black sparkly powder from Ranger. Just because it's a masculine card doesn't mean it can't have a little sparkle so I added a few silver and black gems.

I can't thank Kim enough for thinking of me for this collaboration and to Michelle for being fabulous!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Thanks!

 Hello everyone,

Update:  I'm very excited and honoured to say that I was chosen "Top Mow-It-All" for this challenge!

I'm here with a thank you card for you today.  I absolutely love this set by Lawn Fawn and I think it's one of my most used.

I started with a white card stock panel and used a chevron embossing folder and ran that through my die cutting machine.  I then took the stitched oval dies from LF and cut it out of an ivory piece of card stock an with the sweet little faces from the Thanks a bushel set, stamped them all over the panel with SSS chocolate ink.  I stamped the little heart with SSS Teeny Bikini ink.

I had this banner die cut in my stash (I can't remember who it's from, sorry!) and it fit perfect, so instead of trying to find a coloured card stock to match I just took the same ink I used for the little hearts and inked up the banner.  This way it's a perfect match and I used up something from my ever growing stash pile!

I stamped the coffee and donut with SSS intense black ink and coloured them in with my copics.  I used R20 & R22 for the pinks, C1 & 0 for the lid and E23 & E25 for the brown on the donut. I then used the dies to cut them out.  I added the adorable little faces from the Thanks a Bushel set with SSS Chocolate ink and Teeny Bikini inks.  I cut out the Thanks from white card stock and adhered it to the banner die cut.

I'm playing along with the Lawnscaping Challenge - Give Thanks

"Thanks" for stopping by, see you again soon.

I'll be starting my 12 day of Christmas cards soon, so stay tuned!

S'More fun! - Lawn Fawn Card

Hello everyone,

Well today was the first day of school for my girls and it was successful.  My youngest did not do so well at first as she is going into grade 1, but she did great after a few minutes.  My oldest did great, as soon as she saw her friends, mom and dad could be on their way!

I have a card to share with you that I made with Lawn Fawn's Love you S'MORE set.

I needed to get used to my distress inks as I was not getting the hang of the blending part.  I was always getting streaks no matter what I did but stubbornness prevailed and I think I figured it out...for this time at least!  I used Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord as well as Mowed Lawn and Forrest Moss (all purchased as Simon Says Stamp) to give the hills and grass some dimension and I used the Mini ink blending tool and the regular ink blending tool as well.

I used the Grassy Border dies from LF at the bottom as the bottom of the card needed something so I used a strip of grass to fill it in and I think it did the trick.  I did used the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio dies for the hills as my LF Stitched Hillside Borders Dies aren't in yet (but they are on there way!!!!!!) Unfortunately they are currently out of stock but it won't take long for them to get more in.

I used the Tiny Back Drops with Hero Arts white embossing powder for the starry background and the sentiment which I embossed on a piece of black card stock.  I used my copics to colour in the critters, moon and the flames.

You can't see it very well but I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the marshmallows and the flames.  I used Recollections 110# card stock as well as a Kraft card base and I stamped the LF Woodgrain Backdrops on the base just for an additional element.

Thanks for stopping by!

See you soon with another card.

HCW13 Day 2

Hello everyone,

It's day 2 of the Holiday Card Workshop 13 and I took inspiration from Debbie's card.  I received my SSS extra card hit for December (so excited!) and I used the snowflake die that came with that kit.

I used glitter on the blue snowflake, stickles on the other and liquid glass on the third.

I also used the stickles to line the white snowbank.

I used the sentiment that came in the same kit and used Outdoor Denim ink from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by!
See you soon.

Holiday Card Workshop Day 1 - Card #2

Hi everyone,

I found the time to do up another card and this time I used Jennifer McGuire's card.

I didn't have a background stamp so I used patterned paper.  I heat embossed the star and coloured it with a yellow copic marker.  I used May Arts twine that came in one of the SSS CKOM and the card base has red glitter!

Simon Says Stamp Holiday Card Workshop 2013 Day 1

Hello everyone!

I have joined the Holiday Card Workshop and this is day 1 and I am super excited!

Here is my card for Day 1.  I've used Kristina's card as inspiration.  Since I only have three rolls of wash tape in my stash (Yes, you read that right!) I used red baker's twine instead and,  here is another shocker, I don't have a penguin stamp either!  So I used this stamp from SSS Purry Christmas instead.  I also thought it would be cute to wrap the twine around it's tail and ear as this is what my cat would do.

I used kraft card stock from one of my SSS CKOM kits and used the Swiss Dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the Purry Christmas stamp set with Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I love it because it is actually a nice crisp white.

Finally I coloured in the image with copics and you may not be able to see it well but I used stickler on the ribbon part of the gift box.

Thanks for stopping by and what for another card tomorrow!!

More Christmas cards

Hi Everyone!

I have two more Christmas cards for you.   I am also submitting these for the Paper Smooches DT call.

The first one is one that you could reproduce quite easily as it's mostly stamping and one die cut.
I used the SSS Merry Christmas die and the November CKOM stamp set that came with the kit.

I used Momento due drop ink in red and galaxy gold.

The Merry Christmas was cut out of red card stock from Recollections.

My next card is done with a Paper Smooches free digi stamp (so cute!) This is for the PS Sparks challenge "STRIPES"

I printed it out on some card stock and use copics to colour it in.  I

I used white pigment in from CTMH to stamp the sentiment from SSS as well as my while gel pen to make the dash lines.

I also use the Copic glitter pen in clear  and gold to colour in the ribbon on the golf boxes.

Thanks for stopping by!

CASology card challenge. Week 68: BLACK

Hi everyone,

Today I did a card for the CASology challenge "Black"

I used the SSS "So stinkin' cute" stamp set and I heat embossed it in Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I dry embossed the card base with the Diving Swirls Cricut embossing folder.
(I apologize for the quality of the pictures. My daughter took the camera I normally use and I can now see the difference!)

This is just an extra card I thought I would do up.  It's Lawn Fawn "Critters in the forest" stamp set and the sentiment is from "Sunny Skies".  I used Recollections white card stock and Momento tuxedo black ink.

Thanks for stopping by!

CASE Study Challenge #163

Hi everyone,

I have a card for the CASE Study challenge #163.

This is my inspiration for my card.

I used SSS Holiday envelope sentiments set and I stamped it the Tim Holtz distress Broken China ink.

I used SSS vellum and cut it out an 1/8 inch smaller and attached it with my TH tiny attacher.

I used the Merry Christmas die from the SSS Die & Stamps set Christmas Sentiment set  and then glued it to the vellum.  I then used my Spica clear glitter pen to cover it with sparkles!

CASE Study Challenge #162 "Woodsy"

Hello everyone,

Today I did a card with a "woodsy" feel to it.  I used woodgrain card stock from a SSS card kit (I have a few kits that it came) along with pattern paper, vellum and leaf sequins from Lawn Fawn (which came in the Oct CKOM from SSS)

The stamp set is from the SSS October card kit as well and the YOU is from Kelly Perky that came in one of the kits.

Thanks for stopping by.
