Lawnscaping Challenge #122 - Watercolouring

Hello everyone,

I'm back with a card for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge - Watercolouring.  I love this medium as it is so much fun and so forgiving.

I watercolored the front panel with spun sugar distress ink and then sprayed it with water to give it those awesome droplets.  I used the stitched oval dies and cut out the panel and popped it up on the cards base and on top of pink embroidery floss.

I used the Lawn Fawn Baahumbug stamp set and I fussy cut the sheep, coloured it in with my copics and added the liquid appliqué.  I bought the liquid appliqué a while ago and I've been going nuts with it for just about everything white.

Love how the texture came out on this sweet little sheep. There are two ways you can use this, one is to simply let it dry and it will dry with dimension and shine and the other is to hit it with a heat gun (tool).  When you heat it up, that's where you get the puffiness and it is SO much fun to watch grow.

I coloured in the little heart with my copics and added some Wink of Stella, because I just have to and added it to the sheep. I then added the sentiment to a banner from Plus 9 that I cut out of white card stock and added it to the oval.

I added some sequins from Lucy's Cards and added some glitter enamel dots to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

AAA Cards Game #56 - Winter Wonder

Hello everyone,

We have a new challenge up on the blog and it's Game #56 - Winter Wonder.

Make it Crafty is our sponsor and you have a chance to win a $15 store credit.
Click on the image below to see all the amazing products they carry.

For my card today I used a digi stamp from Make it Crafty and this one is called Winter Sign
I know how sometimes winter can be cold and we tend to stay in a lot more so I thought I would make a wintery "thinking of you" card for the challenge.

I posted on Instagram yesterday that I used liquid masking fluid to cover this image so I could do a distress ink background and I had put my fingers right on the image before it was completely dry but after it dried and I did the background, it completely ruined the image as the masking fluid was too wet and when I rubbed it off, it took the image with it!

So...I has to start all over again with my colouring.  Yes I know, I should have done that first, then I would have only coloured it once.  Lesson learned!

I coloured in the sign with my copics and I'll list them below.  Instead of using distress ink for the background I used B000 and the colourless blender to create the blue haze.  I then added in some Pico Embellisher in white for the falling snowflakes as well as some gelly roll glitter pen dots.

I die cut the front panel with the new Lawn Fawn 4bar rectangles set with the largest die and glued it directly to the slate grey card stock and left an eighth inch border around it.  I then popped up that pane on to the A2 sized card base.  And for a change I actually stamped the sentiment in Versafine onyx black in BEFORE I added the foam tape, which is something I seam to forget every time!

To finish off the card I added some Wink of Stella to the snow.

Don't forget to head over the the AAA Cards challenge blog to add your project to tour linky.  We always love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Skipping Stones Design Tip/Technique Hop!

Hello everyone,

We are here to share another Tip or Technique Hop with you today.

A lot of times we try and curve out stamps but it can also go the other way.

I took the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Victorian Summer stamp set and stretched it out to be straight.  So it's always fun to look at your stamps in more ways than they were entered to be.

Now on to my card.  I love this stamp and really wanted to showcase it so I started out with a watercoloured background and stamped it in Versamark.  Then I heat embossed it in white embossing powder.  I took a piece of vellum and did the same thing but in different areas of the panel.

I glued it on to the card base and added the die cut sentiment, added some glitter, cause everything needs glitter!  I then glued that to the vellum panel and called it done!  I didn't want to add anything else to the card because I really wanted to see all those beautiful flowers.

Here is a list for the of the design team.  Be sure to have a look at everyone on the way as there are some amazing creations for you.

Happy Hopping!

AAA Cards - Game 55 "Glitter"

Hi everyone!

We are back with a new year with great things for AAA Cards Challenges.  We have some great sponsors who are giving away prizes to win so be sure to link up your project for a chance at some great goodies!

The first game of 2016 is "Glitter".  Who does't love glitter, right?

The prize for this game is a $20 GC to Stampendous!

For my card today, I used Ranger Enchanted Gold embossing powder and added that to a full card front and embossed the whole thing.  Once that was cooled off, I die cut it with the flower die.  You could also die cut the flower first and then emboss it but since this was pretty thing I opted to do it the other way.

The panels where watercolour backgrounds that I did a while ago and finally put it on a card.  I have lots of those in my stash.  I play around with the colours and make backgrounds to use for later. Helps when you're in a hurry and need to do up a quick card.

I cut them out with stitched rectangle dies and popped them up on the card.  I cut out the Amazing from some foiled card stock that I also had in my stash and glued that on to the card along with the flower and the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to link up you're project. We always LOVE to see what you create and to show off your stuff tag #aaacards on Instagram!

See you again soon!
