AAA Card - Game #59 - Embossing

Hello everyone,

We are back with another challenge with AAA Cards and it's anything Embossing!

Our sponsor for this month is Stampendous and they are offering a $20 gift certificate!

Here is my card for this challenge.  I used heat embossing for the sentiment with clear embossing powder and I did this three times to give it lots of dimension.  I used my MISTI to stamp the "because you are" on two additional panels with a PPP stitched tab dies and used memento onyx black ink and then I stamped it again with versamark and then clear embossed it.  I love my MISTI for things like this that would have been much too hard to do with out it.

I used a SSS stencil and blended candied apple distress ink to the bottom corner then sprayed a perfect pearls mixture that I keep in a mini mister along with some raspberry spray mist and added that to the front panel.  To finish off my card I used some silver thread and added it under the die cut sentiment as well as some clear droplets

Neewer 16" Photo Studio Light Tent SoftBox - Review

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Neewer 16" light box from Amazon.ca, which is now a lot less than what I paid, and I thought I'd do a comparison for you.

So I took my pictures like I normally would and this first picture is in the light box and the second one is as I would normally take them.  I did not edit this one in any way except to add my watermark.

I use an iPhone 5S and the "Photos" program that's on my Mac for editing.

Here a picture in the box with three lights and it's during the day.  I have a clamp light over my head, and Otte light to my left and my right but they are about 2 feet each side.

So, what do you guys think?  Have any tips or suggestions for me to try out?  As it stands, I'm liking the way they come out without the box.  This is no fault of the product in anyway.  My goal was to prevent a lot of the shadows that I get and that does seem to help but now it looks like my pictures aren't as clear as they were.

Let me know what you think of if you have any suggestions or tips.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

AAA Cards Game #58 - Sequins

Hello everyone,

We are back with another game and it's all about sequins!

Happy Little Stampers is our sponsors again this month and couldn't be happier!

$20 Gift Certificate

For the longest time I didn't know how to use sequins but one day I had some fall onto my card and voila!  Ever since then, I've used them on almost every card I made.

I used the sequins mixes from Lucy's Cards.  They are just precious! The one thing I like is that you don't have to use the entire mix in a shaker.  I've used a few sequins, like here, to add embellishments to my cards and with the variety they go a long way.

I used the grid background stamp and heat embossed it and used abandoned coral distress ink and watercoloured it in.  I used a stitched rectangle die and the thanks die to cut out the front panel and used liquid adhesive and added that to the card base.

Don't forget to head over the the blog and link up your project, we love seeing what you create!

Tips / Techniques Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

It's time for our monthly tip/techniques hop and I have a tip for you.

I would with a craft mat and I found mine way to big for my workspace.  I went and cut mine up so that I didn't have to fight with it to keep it flat as these are stored rolled up and I would have to tape it down.  I still wanted a bigger piece but sometimes I only need something small so as you see below this is how I "chopped it up"!

This allows me to keep these under my grey mat that you see in the picture and they stay flat so I don't have to fight to try and keep it down when I'm working.  They live under there and are ready when ever I need them.

My card today was made using my smaller craft mat by don't some ink smooshing for the heart die cut.  I used the sweet elephant from the mini set Elephant End and for the banner die cut I heat embossed the Timeless Textures in white just to add a bit of interest and I did the same with the sentiment on the heart die cut from the Hearty Hello set.

Be sure to hop along with the other DT members to see lots of amazing inspiration and great tips/techniques.  Be sure to head over to the shop to see all the wonderful stamps sets that you've seen along the hop!
