AAA Cards Game 62 - Anything Goes!

Hello everyone,

We are back with Game #62 and Sky's the Limit!

This week our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers who will be providing a $20 gift certificate to their store.

Here are the cards I created.  I was inspired by Yana Smakula so I gave it a try.  Normally I regret not getting the stamps sets that I see being used but this time I actually have it.  So that made me very exited.

I started out with a full 8.5x11" sheet of card stock and stamped all the image outlines in black ink.  I then went on to stamp in the colours with Simon Says Stamp inks.

After I did all the stamping I then cut my panel into four.  I have to say that it was a bit nerve-racking cutting into the page like that.  But I was able to get four panels.  And for these two cards I took one of those A2 size panels I cut them in half again and die cut them out of the 4bar sized stitched rectangles from Lawn Fawn.

I took my N0 Copic marker and went around the images in hopes to pop them up off the card a bit to give dimension.   One I glued on to a note card directly to the panel and the other I added a think black panel to break up the white background.

The top sentiment is a die cut from SSS and the below sentiment came from another Altenew stamp set called Beautiful Day set. I then added some wink of stella to the flowers and called them done.

Skipping Stones Design Tip/Techniques Blog Hop

Hello everyone,

We are back with a Tip or Technique Blog hop and I have a tip and a technique for you today.

My technique is layered stamping.  I struggle with this sometimes but I find that using my MISTI does help A LOT!  I am able to really get in there an line up the images to be able to get that perfect placement.

Now for my card.

I used the new to me Breathtaking Butterflies stamp set and it really is Breathtaking!  I wanted to do something a little non-traditional with the colours so I took some of my pink inks and did the butterfly in two different shades.  I used black ink to stamp the sentiment from the same set and added some pink gems to match the lighter colour.

Be sure to join us and spread some love to the other DT members as they have some amazing projects to share with you.

Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge 7

Hello everyone,

We are back with Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge 7.

My choice is DECORATIVE FRAMES/HATS/KRAFT

I have to admit that I started this card about 5 times. I know when I first started card making, I couldn't understand how the pro's could get those videos done in one shot or how on earth do they get all those cards done so fast.  But then I started to realize that it's not always easy for them either.  The reason I say this is to encourage you to keep going when you feel like you just can't do it all.  We ALL have our days and this was one for me but I got though it.

I started out with the crown instead of a hat because don't we all have a crown?  I coloured those in with R000 and R20 then added the stickles as the gems.

I took the frame die and cut out a wood-like patterned paper and popped it up with foam tape to frame the crown.  I then took the Fabulous die and cut that out of kraft paper and glued it down with Tombo mono.  I stamped the YOU ARE with Memento and added in the sequins.  I added the stickles to the middle of the sequins for interest.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to link up your projects, we love to see what you create.

BRI - Happy Birthday Card Share

Hi everyone,

I'm here with the last post for March.  I can't believe that April is here already!  I'm certainly not complaining, I can't wait to see the buds on the trees and the birds are already back signing their lovely morning songs.

My card today was actually put together mostly with dies that were already cut and just sitting on my desk waiting to be turned into a card.  All except the happy birthday sentiment, I die cut those several times to give it the chipboard look.  And absolutely no stamping.

I used the WPlus9 Sunshine Layers Dies to create the frame and I popped that up on foam tape.  I used the rose from Paper Smooches as well as the Lawn Fawn scripty happy birthday die.

For the back panel I used a We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folders and I have to say these are SO COOL!!!  I used the Quilted set and I can't get enough.  I used a 5.5 x 4.25 panel and embossed it and used Tombo Mono Multi glue to adhere it to the base as well as the rose and happy birthday die cuts.

That's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by the BRI Shop as there are more products than ever before!

Thanks for stoping by!

AAA Cards Game #61 - Stencil

Hi everyone,

I love stencils and how they can give you either a little or a lot to your projects.  They are versatile and you can make a stencil out of just about anything.

Our sponsor for this month is Stampendous and they are offering a $20 gift certificate!

Now for my card.  I used the WPlus9 Sunshine layers die for the background panel.  I think this is my most used die I have.  Sometimes it's the focal point and sometimes it just adds the perfect finishing touch to your card.

I used a Heidi Swapp Stencil that I bought at Michaels and used an old Stampin'Up peachy colour that I had in my stash.  I then took the tag die from the Love Shower dies and cut out the tag from the piece I coloured and adhered that to the card base.

I then took the Roses die from Paper Smooches and die cut it out several times to create a chipboard try die and I left in some of the middle pieces to give it some interest.  I used some iridescent ribbon from my local dollar store and added it with my TH tiny attacher.  I added some white thread and added that under the roses and added some droplets and clear sequins to finish the card.
