Online Card Classes - Clean and Simple 4 Day 1 & 2

Hello everyone,

I am participating in the newest Online Card class which started yesterday.

Today we had a snow day from work so I was able to spend some time in my craft room.

Day 1 - I was inspired by Jennifer and Kristina and combined both their techniques.

I used the Lawn Fawn Starry Background stamp along with Hero Arts Tide Pool ink and pearl embossing powder.  I then die cut the Thanks from Mama Elephant four times and with the top die cut I used the Tide Pool ink to colour it.  I used clear embossing powder to give it dimension.  I popped up the front panel with foam tape on a white card stock A2 size base.

Day 2 - I was inspired by Kristina's card.  I was able to make two cards for today's class.

I used distress ink markers to do a watercolour technique and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched scalloped border dies.  I then watercolored the tea cup from the Lawn Fawn  Love you a Latte set and dies.  For the sentiment I used one from the same stamp set and used Bubble Gum Mama Elephant pigment ink.

Card 2 - I was going through Instagram and saw Barb's card and I thought it was so awesome I had to try it myself.  I used the Lawn Fawn stitched hillside dies (I'm not sure what products she used) and distress inks and the Lawn Fawn Life is Good stamps and dies.  I coloured in the little crab with my copics.

I had a rough time with this card.  First even through I cleaned off my sentiment stamp it still left a faint impression, next was the distress ink when I applied it I went over the sides and only realized it as I was removing the tape so I thought I would use white embossing powder to hide it (not that great but it worked). You can see the enamel dots that are at the bottom of the card...yup that was an ink spot too!  But I think I saved it enough to include it in my post for today and to show that it's not always perfect.

All Lawn Fawn stamps and dies can be purchased at Butterfly Reflections Ink.

Butterfly Reflections Ink, January Mood Board

Hi everyone,

Today I was inspired by these colours that were put together by Amanda on the Butterfly Reflections In blog.

For my card I put together some pinks from my card stock stash (which is from Recollections) and the gold card stock is from one of my SSS card kits.
I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch that punches out three at once.  I then used the Lawn Fawn Stitched boarder dies for the bottom of the card.

I then used some Heidi Swap colour shine in gold and with a paint brush splattered the top part of the card.  I stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn "Love you tons" set and left out the "tons" and I used MFT's black licorice hybrid ink.  To finish off the card I used some MME enamel dots I also got in a SSS Card kit.

Supplies:
Lawn Fawn "Love You Tons" - Butterfly Reflections Ink
Card stock, Martha Stewart Punch, Heidi Swapp colour shine - my local Michaels Store.

Love you Tons!

Hello everyone,  I'm back today with a more subtle Valentine's day card.

I used the "Love you Ton's" mini stamp set from Lawn Fawn, which is simply adorable.  I stamped out the little elephants onto the text paper that comes in the Yours Truly 6x6 paper pad with Memento onyx black.  After I die cut them out,  I coloured the outline with a grey copic marker to hightlight the images.

For the background I stamped the Lawn Fawn Starry backdrops versa mark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder.  I used watercolour shimmer paints that I have had for a long time in my stash but any inks, watercolour paints, distress inks or ink daubers mixed with perfect pearls will work for this technique and I did that on watercolour paper.

I used the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles to cut out the other papers and I popped up the little heart papers with foam tape and glued the others flat to an A2 size card base in white card stock.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder on vellum and used my fingers to curl up the flag ends.  To finish off the card I used some white thread and sequins.

Don't forget to stop by the shop to see the new items that are coming in.

Thanks for stopping by!  See you again soon.

Oh Happy Day!

Hi there!  I'm back again with a Spring card to share with you.  If you can't tell I'm a HUGE Lawn Fawn fan because they have the most adorable images to work with and you can do so much with them.

Vanessa has all the new Lawn Fawn stamps and dies on pre-order and you can get 10% your order by using the code LFPREORDER10!  But hurry because this offer ends Sunday, January 18th!!!!!  I've gone mine in already!!

I thought it would be nice to have a spring card. I did some selective die cutting with the Snow Day coordinating die cuts along with the Spring Showers Lawn Cuts for the clouds.  I then embossed the edge with the LF Stitched rectangles and used a black pen to highlight the stitch lines.

I mixed and matched up a few sets with this card and the first one being Snow Day.  I used the sweet little bunny and I coloured him in with copics and used my Uni-ball Signo white gel pen to add in some dots.  I did the same with the clouds but I used the Wink of Stella clear glitter marker to add some sparkle.  I used the ladybug from the new Bugs & Kisses set and the sentiment is from the Hello Sunshine stamp set and used Memento Onyx Black ink as well as all the images.

I used the Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border dies to make the hills and used distress ink for the hills and sky.  And then I thought it needed something else in the sky so I added a little bird that you can find from many of the Lawn Fawn sets including the two I used today.

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another Love card for Butterfly Reflections Ink.

I am using the sweet "Whale you be mine" mini stamp and die sets from Lawn Fawn.  This is such a versatile set that it can be used with all the other wonderful stamps from Lawn Fawn and it's fun to mix and match them.

I used an A2 sized card base of white card stock and cut out a panel that's 4x5.25.  I found some doilies in my stash from years ago so I used one of those behind the whales and heart.  For the heart I used the larger one from the LF Bug & Kisses set and cut it out with the coordinating dies.

I took a paint brush filled with watered down ink and flicked onto the card to create the background.  Any dye, pigment or water based ink will work for this technique. Just smoosh (technical term!) on a block or non porous surface and add a bit of water then fill up your paint brush and, flick!

I coloured in the whales with my copics and finished them off with the Wink of Stella glitter pen.
Then to finish off the card I used the LF Coral coloured Lawn Trimmings.  On the inside I did stamp the sentiment that comes with the set "whale you be mine" in Memento Onyx Black ink.

Hello everyone!

Coralynn here with a Valentine's Day card.  This is my first DT post ever so I hope I don't disappoint.

I absolutely love the new "Bugs & Kisses" set from Lawn Fawn.  I used the Fireflies and coloured them in with my copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies.  For the sentiment I heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine white embossing powder but Hero Arts clear embossing powder will work great as well.

I stamped out the jar and fussy cut it out and cut off the top so it would look like the jar opened up and let out all the Fireflies.  I covered the background with one of the hearts from the set to give a bit of interest to the card.  The shop offered at pearl embossing powder from Ranger which will give you the same look as I did here.

I used the LF Grassy Borders dies to cut out the grass and popped the front layer on foam tape.  I used Copics to colour in the jar and Fireflies and covered them in Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

Home Sweet Home - Card

Hello everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed the holidays with friends and family and were able to get in some crafty time.  I have been fortunate enough to have spent time with my family and some time in my craft room with some goodies that Santa brought me.

Now on to my card.

I decided to make a square card as I don't make much else other than the standard A2 or 4bar size cards.  I used Recollections 110# white card stock and the Simon Says Stamp stitched squares dies and I used the largest one for the outside and the thirst largest for the inside.  I love how the stitches are on the inside and out.  Then I used the Lawn Fawn "Home Sweet Home" stamp and die set for the banner and sentiment and stamped that in Memento ink.

I used my foam tape to make the shaker portion of the card and I added in Pretty Pink Posh Crystal Clear and Winter Snow Mix sequins and added in some star and other Martha Stewart shaped glitters (Christmas gift from my Mom <3) as well as some micro beads from Recollections.

I used copics (0, B21, B24 & B26) to colour in the banner to tie in with the sequins.  I then put all that on to a 4.25 x 425 card base.

Christmas Gift Card Holders

Hi everyone!

I have a few gift card holders for you today.  I was inspired by Debby Hughes as well as Laura Bassen with their gift card holders.

This is the one Debby Hughes had up on her blog here, and I used the SSS Stitched rectangle dies to cut to the patterned paper.  I cut out two pieces, one for the top and one for the bottom.  I used the LF Joy to the Woods set and heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I use the LF Stitched Hillside Borders dies to cut out the snowy slope.

I used 1/4 in double sided tape to adhere the sides so the gift card can slip in and be a bit snug so it doesn't fall out.

Then I used LF Peppermint Lawn trimmings  to keep the holder closed.  The great thing is you can make these for any occasion you want.

Here's another one I did with more Christmas patterned paper and Maya Road twine.

This was inspired by Laura Bassen's gift card holder and this is a card that opens and the gift card holder is on the inside panel.  I used Recollections 110# white card stock and LF Deck the Halls stamp and die set.  I used SSS Olive and Chocolate dye inks to stamp the images and sentiment.

Here is another one I used the LF patterned paper (which almost broke my heart to use as this is the one thing I hoard is LF paper).

Holiday Cards

Hi everyone,

I'm here today with a couple of cards that I've worked on the past week.  I revived my SSS order and had a few minutes to play.

First card is the SSS Furry Cat and Box stamp set and it's just adorable.  I used copics to colour in the cat and patterned paper to paper piece the box.  I used a little bow that came in the Limited Edition Holiday kit from SSS, stamped the sentiment with SSS Schoolhouse ink and finished it off with some enamel dots from MME that I purchased at my local Michaels last holiday season.

The second card I used the Joy to the Woods stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn.  I used copics to colour in the images and Versafine Onyx for the sentiment.

I picked up some Heidi Swapp Shimmer pray from Michaels that was on sale in mint and used that in the background and I used the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles to die cut the panel. I then finished it off with Pretty Pink Posh sequins in 6mm marshmallow and popped it up with some foam tape onto an A2 sized card base in 110# Recollections white card stock.

Lawnscaping Challenge #96!

 Hello everyone,

I have another card that I am entering in the very last Lawnscaping Challenge for 2014!  I can't believe it.

Today's challenge is anything Christmas.

I used the Lawn Fawn's Joy to the Woods stamp and die set for the birch trees and the sentiment and the Winter Owl.  I used my Prismacolor Coloured pencils to colour him in and copics for the trees.

I die cut a square from the SSS In Stitches and cut it out of SSS Fog card stock (I think, it came in a SSSCK).  I used the Mama Elephant Sunny Skies set and I used the rays and stamped it in Fog and Smoke SSS inks and off set them. I used the falling snow stencil from SSS and used the Fog ink.

I used Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the snow flakes, square die cut and the Owl's scarf.  I had just run out of the glitter out so I used Jennifer's suggestion and filled it up with a bit of water and almost good as new.

For the shaker I used beads and micro beads of greys, back and clear and to complete the card I used Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow 6mm sequins.

See you soon.

Gift Card Holders

Hello everyone,

I have a couple gift card holders for you today.

I have to thank Laura Bassen as they have giving me lots of inspiration for these gift card holders.  I used the pop-up holder that she showed on the Simon Says Stamp blog here.

I used the tree from Mama Elephant and the moose from Lawn Fawn.  I stamped the sentiment in Color Box white pigment ink and then heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I was hoping to fill in some of the spots that didn't stamp well.

I then cut along the black lines just under the moose's ear and chin and used some embroidery floss in green and tied a little mini bell around his neck.  I colour in both images with my copics.  Since I had coloured these quite a few weeks ago, unfortunately I didn't write the colours down.

This one I used the tree from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Forest and the adorable little ones are from Mama Elephant's In My Heart.  I stamped the Merry with the November SSSCK of the month and then I die cut the Christmas from SSS out of glimmer paper from Michaels.

Thanks or stopping by!
See you soon.

Lawnscaping Challenge #95 - White on White

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to update this post as I was chosen as Honourable Gnome for the card I sent in.

So excited!!

Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments that were left on my post.  Everyone made me smile!

See you again soon!
Coralynn  :)

Hello everyone,

I know it's been a while since my last post and I apologize for that.  Christmas is quickly sneaking up on me and it's now two weeks to go!  Yikeeeesssss!!!!

Now for something fun!  I was so excited to see this challenge as I love monochromatic colours.

Now for my card.   I used the trees from Joy to the Woods, the owl from Critters in the Arctic and the bunny from the Snow Day set.

I used the coordinating dies to cut out the owl and bunny. I used the Stitched Hillside borders to cut out the snow drift and finished it off with some stickles.

I have to say the card is not this dark.  For the colours I used my copics, N0, N2 & N4 and for the bunny's ears and tail I used R20.  I used my clear Wink of Stella clear glitter pen for the ears and cheeks on the bunny and nose on the owl.  I stamped all the images and sentiment with Memento London Fog ink.

Thanks for stoping by!

Elegant card

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend!  I know I was able to get into my craft room a bit more than usual so I am excited.  I was able to make about 4-5 cards which compared to last weekend I didn't get any done!  It seams that sometimes I can spend 3 hours trying to craft but nothing comes about but then some days I'm in there for less than 2 hours and I get a bunch of cards done!!  I've come to the realization that I want to always make that perfect card and like Kristina Werner said during one of her videos..."it's just a card".  And you know what?  It is!!  As much as I love then they are just cards and I know those who get my cards will love them because they were hand made.

Now on to my card.  I've really been liking the monochromatic colour schemes lately.

I started with Wendy Vecchi's embossing paste on Recollections 110# white card stock.  I used a Heidi Swapp stencil that I picked up at my local Michaels.  I don't know the name of it but it's the 6x6 that comes with the heart stencil.

Before the paste dried I covered it with Recollections pearl embossing powder and then I let it dry.  I then heat set it with my heat tool and you can see how awesome it turned out.  I can't get enough of this look.

For the tag I used Mama Elephant's Tag's a Lot and Simon Says Stamp's Bitty Butterfly stamps and die set and I used the second and third sizes and die cut them out of velum after heat embossing with Hero Arts white embossing powder.

To finish off the card I used Pretty Pink Posh's Marshmallow 6 mm sequins and I LOVE how they look on this card.   The rope I used at the top of the tag is something I was given from a long time ago and I have no idea where it's from or the name of it but I love it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Merry & Bright Card

Hello everyone,

I have a winter card to share.

I'm joining the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge "Anything Goes"

I started with a Recollections 110# white card base in the 4bar size. Then with a 3x3 stencil from Michaels to put down the texture paste flourishes.  I found a glitter paste from Martha Stewart that was in a clearance bin at Michaels.  The glitter paste itself it pretty chunky so I thought I would mix it up with the Ranger Texture paste and it made it a bit smoother but with all the sparkle.

I used the Freezy Fellas stamp set from Paper Smooches, I coloured him in with my copics (B21, B24 & B26).  I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Snowy Day with Versafine Onyx Black.

To finish off the card I used the Winter Snow Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and I heat embossed the white parts of the hat and buttons with sparkly embossing powder from Recollections.

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!
