Birthday Wishes - CASology Week 189 - Doodle

Hi everyone,

I found a bit of time to play along with CASology Week 189 - Doodle.  And just in time as it closes tomorrow!

I recently received the Uplifting stamp set from Skipping stones Designs and there are the sweet little butterflies and I thought that it would make a great background.

I coloured them in with my Zig Clean Colour markers and then cut out a panel with a Lawn Fawn 4bar stitched rectangle die.

I also cut out the white back panel with the WPlus9 Sunshine layers dies.  I have been using this on almost every card lately.  It's just the perfect subtle detail that just amps up the card without too much distraction.

I adhered that panel to the card base and then I popped up the coloured panel on with foam tape to give the card dimension.

I added some white thread and popped up the banner on foam tape as well and stuck it to the thread.  I did add a few little dots of multi matte medium so the thread wasn't all lucie goosie.

I stamped the sentiment on to a banner that I die cut from the WPlus9 banners dies and used the sentiment from the WPlus9 Whole Lotta Happy stamps set with Memento ink and then I added some Pretty Pink Posh to finish off the card.

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with Skipping Stones Design

Hello everyone!

I'm back to participate in the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog and Skipping Stones Design is a sponsor!

For my card I used the Funny Coffee stamp set and used my copics to colour in the take-out cup and added this cute little bow.  I found these at my local dollar store and I can't get enough of them.  I used the MFT scalloped square dies and the Simon Says Stamp stitched circle dies to cut out the patterned paper as well as the card front so you can see through the card.

I popped up the cup with foam tape and added it to the front of the card. I found these lovely seed beads at my local Michaels in the $1.50 bins and I think I need to go back for the other colours because they are awesome!  On the inside of the card I simply have a happy birthday sentiment.  To finish off the card I added some sequins from Lucy's Little Things.

Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge 6

Hello everyone,

We are back with Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tack-Toe Challenge 6.

My three choices are Celebrate / Clean&Simple / Critters

My card today can work for either a new baby, new co-worker or new neighbourgh.

I started out with this panel that I made playing with my Misti and loved how it looked.  I took a stipe stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and there colours of SSS ink and did one strip in each colour.  I then took a rectangle die and cut it out the panel glued it to the base.

I have to admit that I shopped my stash for this one.  I have SO many little things that are taking over my desk so as I was deciding which three elements to use for this challenge, I had this image that I coloured for The Daily Marker's colour challenge and the stupid panel was just sitting beside it.  So put them together for this card.

I then took the scalloped square dies from MFT and cut out a panel and stamped the images onto that and coloured them in with my copics.  I then popped that up with foam tape and added some sparkling clear sequins to finish off the card.

AAA Cards Challenge - Game 60 - Easter

Hi everyone,
We are back with another challenge here at AAA Cards and our Game theme this week is Easter.

I can't believe that Easter is in March this year and how the time really going by so fast.  But right now you have lots of time to play along with us for our Easter Challenge.
This week our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers who will be providing a $20 gift certificate to their store.

Here is my card for today's challenge.
I did a die cut inlay and took the front panel and cut out the film strip from the left side of the card.  I popped up to the card base with foam tape and used the tape to keep the die cut together with the panel.
I took the little squares from the middle and used dye ink and did some ink blending.  I only used one colour per square to keep it simple but just had darker blending at the bottom.  I then glued them to the card base to give a bit of dimension.

I took the film strip die and cut it out one more time and added that on top of the other to add a bit of dimension as well.  For the sweet little bunnies, I used the Pretty Pink Posh and Simon Says Stamp collaboration set from Stamptember 2015 and coloured in their ears and cheeks with my copics.

I popped them up as well and added them to the opposite coloured squares and added a little flower sequin to one of the bunnies.  I stamped the sentiment on to a banner die cut and added a few matching enamel dots.

Skipping Stones Design Tips / Technique Blog Hop

Hello everyone,

I have a tip and technique for you today today.

My technique is masking.  You can use most anything as a mask and I normally use sticky notes or actually masking paper.  With masking you always want to start with the image you want to be up front and then mask as you work back.

My tip is where I store my masks.  I keep them on the back of the carrier sheets for the stamps.  That way they are always there if you need them.

Here is the card I created using the tips and techniques above.

I used the birdie from the Hippo Birdie Two Ewe stamp set along with the french fry.  I stamped the bird on the front panel, masked it off and then stamped the fry.  I then coloured in the images with my copics and popped up that front panel on to my card base.

I added the sentiment from the same stamp set, which makes me giggle every time I read it and added some enamel dots and some Wink of Stella that you can't see very well.

Don't forget to hop along to the other DT members and see the tips and techniques they have to share.
