It's the Season - Butterfly Reflections Ink

Hi everyone,

I'm very excited to be back on the blog today to share a Christmas card with MFT goodies.

I first cut out two panel with the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles dies, one from from kraft cards stock and the other from vellum.  I stamped the trees from Jingle All the Way to create the background, heat embossed them with Hero Arts white embossing powder and then coloured them in with pencil crayons.

I then took one of the sentiments from the Joyous Christmas Sentiments and heat embossed them again with the HA white embossing power and added a few starts with some enamel dots to finish off the card.

Don't forget to stop by the SHOP, there are SO many fun Christmas products, you deserve to treat yourself!

Thanks for stopping by!

Skipping Stone Design Tips/Technique Blog Hop

Hello everyone,

I'm back with our Tips/Technique Hop with Skipping Stones Design.

I have a tip and a technique and I'll start with the technique.  The art of adding dots to embellish anything.  I have seen this from a few other crafty friends and if you add three bigger dots in a triangle format and the add in lots of little ones around it gives it a more natural look.

For the Tip part, it's something lots of people still cringe about when they see this happen and it's cutting your stamps.  I was one of those who did that but when I did it for the first time I realized that it was so much easier and faster to just cut it apart then to mask one end off and then the other end.  When ever I did that I would forget the tape on and end up with a mess on my project.
It's okay, they don't scream or cry when you do this, I promise :)

I did some ink blending to the bottom of the card base and with the new Harty Hello set and stamped the sentiment in Versafine onyx black ink.

We hope you'll hop along with us as one lucky commenter will win a stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Christmas Card Series - Day 3

Hello everyone,

I'm back with Day 3 of my Christmas Card Series.

I have an embossing folder that looks like a chevron brick pattern that I picked up at JoAnns the last vacation we were in the States and thought it would make a great background. So I ran that through my die cutting machine with a Tim Holtz oval diffuser. Cut it out with the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles dies, then popped it up on my card base.

I don't have a poinsettia stamp so I improvised.  I used this set from Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals stamps and dies and coloured them in with my copics to look like poinsettias, cut them out and adhered the leaves to the front panel and popped up the flowers.

The sentiment is from MFT and I stamped it in Versafine onyx black ink and clear embossed it with clear embossing powder and added in some Wink of Stella on the flowers and added some sequins to finish off the card.

AAA Cards Challenge - Game #52 Thanks / Thanksgiving

Hello everyone,

I'm black playing along with Game 52 over on the AAA Cards Challenge blog.

The theme for this game is Thanksgiving or being thankful.  I have lots to be thankful for including wonderful family and friends.

Using a stitched rectangle die I cut out the front panel from white card stock.  I then used some pieces from a chevron full panel die used foam tape to pop them up then coloured some in with my copics.

I cut out three "Thanks" dies from black card stock, glued them together to make it like a chipboard piece and glued it down directly onto the card.  I figured the card had enough dimension.

Be sure to head over to the challenge, we would love to see what you create.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Skipping Stones Design New Release - Day 2

Hello again,  glad to see you back for Day 2 of the new release.

My card for today is a bra and pantie set and when I read the sentiment I actually laughed out loud.

I used watercolours to create the background and then heat embossed the images with white embossing powder.  I used my white gel pen to add in some dots for interest as well as some enamel dots in two colours of pink.

I stamped the sentiment in versa fine onyx black and added it to the inside of the card.  This still makes me smile as I type up this post.

We hope that you are enjoying the hop and up next is the very sweet and talented Ilina.

Skipping Stones Design Day 1- New Release!!!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a brand new release hop for November.  Heather is working hard to bring you some great sets and here is one of them.

For my card, I use the new "FUNDERWEAR" set and it's adorable.

I stamped the panties with Versafine onyx black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then used a sponge dauber and two colours of pink dye ink and coloured in the pretty polka dot panties and added some glitter to the dots.

I die cut the top panel with stitched rounded rectangle die and the bottom panel is embossed with a striped embossing folder and die cut it out with another rectangle die.  Then I popped up the bottom panel on the the card base that I stamped with a striped background stamp in grey ink.  I used wet glue to add on the smaller panel and popped up the panties on top of that. I finished off the card with a few pearl dots.

Well you have come to the end of the hop and we hope that you had as much fun hopping along with us as we did creating the cards for the hop.  Don't forget to comment as one lucky commentor will win a stamp set from the new release.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to join us tomorrow for day two of the New release hop.

Holiday Card Series - Day 2

Hello,

Welcome to Day 2 of my Holiday Card Series.

I love the bold sentiments of the Joyous Christmas Sentiment set from MFT and I wanted it to be the main focus of my card.  I die cut the front panel and popped it up on foam tape then I stamped the sentiment in Versamark (which is a clear sticky ink that allows you to apply embossing powders) and heat embossed in white.

I applied the distress ink to make it look like a snow hill and by added in the white and glitter dots, it makes it look like snowfall.  To finish off the card I added some sparkling clear sequins in 4mm and 6mm.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon for Day 3!

Holiday Card Series 2015 - 12 Days of Christmas - Day 1

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my Holiday Card Series 2015.

I will create and post 2 Christmas cards per week there will have a giveaway on the 12th day so be sure to stay tuned for more details when we get closer to the end.

Now on to my card.

I used mostly Lawn Fawn on this entire card with the stitched snowflakes and the new mini snowflake dies that were released not that long ago.

I glued down the vellum by hiding the liquid adhesive behind the snowflakes which I popped up on foam tape.  I added some gem stones to the middles of the snowflakes to add some interest.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again for Day 2!
