A Blog Named Hero - Bling it Up March Challenge

Hello everyone,

We are half way through our March challenge with Studio Katia as our sponsor.  We have had such great fun working with Studio Katia and Hero Arts products this month I'm sad to see the month go by so fast.

For my card I started out thinking I was going to watercolour the flowers with my Zigs until I realized that I had stamped on the wrong paper.  The struggle is real.  ;)

So instead I decided to just leave the front panel as is.  I then did some partial die cutting with the Ribbons

AAA Cards - Game #83 Shape your LOVE

Hello everyone,

We are up with a new challenge and love is in the air over at AAA Cards!

I started with a piece of Bristol smooth card stock and used my Mission Gold watercolours.  I just love the colours and they are so creamy.  Bristol isn't the best for heavy watercolouring but I like the results I get when I use it.

I then cut a heart out of the top part of the panel with the heart stax dies from MFT and saved the die cut for another project.  I added piece of acetate to the back along with foam tape to create the shaker  and filled it with wonderful sequin goodies from Studio Katia. I then placed the card base on to the shaker part and it was pretty easy to do when the base and panel are the same size.  You can just line them up and press it down.

I then took a scrap piece of white card stock and cut out a banner from WPlus9 and stamped the sentiment from "What does the Fox say" from Studio Katia's November release with Hero Arts black ink. I adhered it to the front panel with Tombow Mono.

We have an extra option for this challenge, in addition to the love theme you might like to shape up your card. It could be long and thin, a rounded square, circular, heart shaped or any other shape you can imagine, just make sure to keep it LOVE themed and CAS.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon.

Happy Holidays - Mint Owl Studio

Hello everyone,

Today I thought I would try and make an ornament.

I die cut the hexagon frames with white card stock and did some ink blending with Mint ink.  I used some black shimmer spray and added some splatter.  I cut out the same frame from fun foam to create the shaker well and then added the acetate and the Mint Owl Sequins mix and a few seed beads from my stash and then another piece of acetate to form a see-through window.  Then I added another frame to the back to finish off the shaker.

To make the hanger for the ornament I added some thick white thread and added it between the front panel and fun foam and added extra liquid adhesive.

I used the sentiment happy holidays from the Trim the Tree set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder on to a piece of black card stock that I cut out with a banner die.

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you again soon!

Welcome to the Family - Studio Katia November 2016 Release

Hello everyone,

I'm very excited and honoured to be joining Studio Katia for their November Release which is now in the shop.  Here is just one of the cards that I've created with this amazing release.

I wanted to create a shaker card because there are so many pretty sequins I wanted to show them off.  I started by cutting out an A2 sized card panel and used a same sized rectangle die to clean up the edges.  I then took the elongated octagon dies and cut out a frame, which I set aside for another project.  I added a piece of acetate to the back of the panel and then added the middle octagon to the front so it would have something to adhere to.  I then added foam tape to the back to create my shaker.

I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts black die ink. I then stamped the adorable fox and two hearts with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with orange embossing powder and the fussy cut them out.

I added the shaker part to the card base and made sure it opened the right way (yes, that has happened more times then I care to admit). I added the fox and hearts to the card as well as a few of the same sequins that are inside the shaker.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon.

AAA Cards Game #58 - Sequins

Hello everyone,

We are back with another game and it's all about sequins!

Happy Little Stampers is our sponsors again this month and couldn't be happier!

$20 Gift Certificate

For the longest time I didn't know how to use sequins but one day I had some fall onto my card and voila!  Ever since then, I've used them on almost every card I made.

I used the sequins mixes from Lucy's Cards.  They are just precious! The one thing I like is that you don't have to use the entire mix in a shaker.  I've used a few sequins, like here, to add embellishments to my cards and with the variety they go a long way.

I used the grid background stamp and heat embossed it and used abandoned coral distress ink and watercoloured it in.  I used a stitched rectangle die and the thanks die to cut out the front panel and used liquid adhesive and added that to the card base.

Don't forget to head over the the blog and link up your project, we love seeing what you create!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!
