With Sympathy - Card

Hello everyone!

I have a sympathy card for your today.  As much as we don't like needing cards like this but at least we can offer something more personal. 

I had this tree die cut out in my little basket of goodies that don't have a purpose yet and thought I would use it on a white background.

I didn't want the card to be completely white so I cut out the border with patterned paper with the SSS Frames die and it gave the card that little bit of pop that I was looking for to go with the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Paw prints on your Heart stamp set and this is the coordinating die.  I used Fresh Peach ink from Hero Arts and dyed some white paper and then die cut it out from that.

I Love You - Card

Hello everyone,

I'm here today with a square card.  I just love the Gleeful Gardens stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  There are just so many fun images to use either together to make a scene or on their own and the main focal point on your project.

I also used the Mama Elephant Up & Away stamps for the balloons and coloured them in with my copics.  I added a little Wink of Stella to the balloons and the sweat little snail.  I used the circle from the Stitched Banner's dies from Lawn Fawn as well as the Spring Showers dies for the clouds.

I stamped the part of the sentiment in Versafine Onyx black ink and coloured in the heart with red copics.  I finished the card off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in Marshmallow and Crystal clear in 4 & 6mm.

Wishing You Only The Best - Card

 Hello everyone,


I'm back with another card.  I recently got the Sending & Wishing stamps and dies and finally got a chance to play with them.

First I used the Simons Says Stamp stitched square dies to cut out both the front and inside panels.  and I popped them up with foam tape.

Then I used Picked Raspberry and Tattered Rose distress inks and with a mini blending tool applied those to the back panel.  To add interest I took the falling confetti stamp from the May 2015 SSCK and stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I cut out the Wishing die three times and coloured the top layer with the Picked Raspberry distress ink and covered it with Wink of Stella.

I used a couple of Tim Holtz stencils and took some water as spritz it t ogive it some dimension.

I stamped a banner stamp from the May kit with Fog ink and the sentiment with the Slated ink.  I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some natural twine from May Arts to finish off the card

Mother's Day Card

Hello everyone!

I'm back with a mother's day card.  I've shown a few on Instagram without posing them to my blog just because wasn't able to give the blog post the love it should have but I still wanted to share with you all.

I had a co-worker ask me to make her a couple cards for her but in French.  Since I don't have any French stamps I simply wrote in the French sentiment with is "Happy Mother's Day".  

I was inspired by a card that Laura Bassen made a while back when the HexChart came out and I wanted to give it a try.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Watercolour Friendly Flowers stamp set which is a set that I have wanted for a while and finally put in my cart.  I used my copics to colour these and I referred to the HexChart that Sandy Allnock created and you can find it over on her blog.  It is a great visual to help you find colours that go well together.

I used glossy accents for the centre of the flowers, though you can't see it in the pictures.  I finished it off with Crystal Clear 6mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

#100HAPPYDAYS

Hi everyone,

I here with another card from the Coffee First and the Arrows background stamp sets from Create a Smile.  I love this set.  I Love that they have large and small coffee cups and a few other little elements to make your card fun.

I used a few sets on this card.  First obviously was the coffee set and since this is how I feel about my morning coffee I thought I would have the adorable hamster from Lawn Fawn dive in to this one.

I used the Create a Smile "Arrow Stamp" set and used Hero Arts Soft Vanilla, Butter Bar and Pumpkin Pie inks to give the background an ombre look.  

I thought it needed something else in the top corner so I used the die from the SSS Happy Bubble set and cut it out of some shimmer paper from a SSS card kit.  I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the back panel and added the same patterned paper as the little speak bubble. 

I hand cut a piece of vellum and added that to the background panel to defuse the arrows.  I used one of the coffee cups  from the Coffee First set and stamped it in Memento Onyx black ink twice.  I coloured it in with my copics and some Wink of Stella and cut out just the waves and popped that up onto the other cup I stamped to give it dimension.  I added a little enamel heart that matched the colour for interest.  I used another piece of patterned paper to stamp out the #100happydays sentiment from the Happy Everything set Mama Elephant and added the banner ends and added a couple more enamel dots from Doodlebug.

BRI Mood Board and National Scrapbook Day - May 2, 2015

Hello everyone!

Today is National Scrapbook Day and even though this is a card and not a layout I think it's still great to celebrate.

Here is my card.

I don't know about you but I always start with an idea but it doesn't always turn into a card right away.  Sometimes not at all but I do like to go through my stash of unfinished goodness and see what I can incorporate.

Well today it was the Scripty Love die cut from Lawn Fawn.  I had a gold Gelato on my desk one day and I coloured some water colour card stock and cut this out but it never made it onto a card until now.

I love these colours together.  I used Hero Arts Fresh Peach, Soft Vanilla and Butter Bar and used an ink blending tool to blend those into the card panel.  I used my nesting circle dies to cut out the top panel and popped it up on foam tape.  I then used the Paper Smooches Fancy Frames Icon Dies and cut it out of patterned paper from a monthly card kit.  I cut out a couple more frames out of white card stock just to make it sturdy and popped that up as well.  

Then to finish it off I use the Fresh Peach ink and coloured some card stock and used the Baby Bow die from Paper Smooches and made a little bow and added a Doodlebug white sprinkles and clear sequins.

Happy Retirement - Card

Hello everyone!

Today I'm back with a card I made for a lady at work who is retiring in a few days.

I used a ton of different products for my card.  First I used the Mama Elephant Peek a Frame window die, and this had one side that only scores and creates a score line to have the window swing open.  I the cut out the panel with the stitched rectangle that comes in the same ME die set.

I used Salty Ocean distress ink to colour the sky on the card base and used the cloud die out of the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die set and glued that to the card base.

I used the Pretty Pink Posh picket fence die and added that to the background for some interest.  I used Seedless preserve and Evergreen Bough distress inks on a piece of water colour paper and cut out the butterflies using the Paper Smooches Butterfly Duet dies.  I just love these.

I then used the Cracked Pistachio distress ink on some regular card stock and cut out the word HAPPY with the MFT Emmit Alphabet dies.   To finish of the card I used some Pretty Pink Posh 4 & 6 mm marshmallow sequins and some Doodlebug sprinkles enamel dots and Chickiniddy enamel hearts that came in a Simson Card kit a while back.

I finally got my hands on a couple of stamps sets from Create a Smile Stamps.  Butterfly Reflections Ink is the first US store to carry the brand and I'm super excited because that's where I got mine!!

This is the first card I did with the set.

I made a square card and I used the SSS stitched squares dies to cut out the frame.  I popped it up on foam tape but I decided not to make a shaker card this time, though this would make a great one.

I used the coffee bean from Lawn Fawn's Love you a latte and the moustache from the Create a Smile  Coffee First set and stamped it with Fog ink.  I then took the heart stamp from the CAS set and stamped that in Schoolhouse ink.

I stamped the sentiment in SSS white pigment ink on a piece of scrap red card stock and used the flag die Lawn Fawn Stitched journaling dies to cut it out nice and straight.

I then used my copics to colour in the coffee cup and covered the whole thing with glossy accents.  

I stamped the Coffee in Memento Onyx black ink and fussy cut it out to give it some interest.  I also popped that up on foam tape as well.

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello everyone,

I really liked the colour combination from the Fusion Card Challenge for this week so I thought I would do up a card and video.  I have the Paper Smooches Graceful Butterflies and I wanted to try out my new Ranger Blue Ribbon dye ink.  I do have to say that I'm not sure about the formulation of this ink for solid stamping as I didn't fin that it covered that well with this particular stamp but this was the first time I used it.  I do love the colour and will try different things with it.  I know May Flaum did a review of a few colours, click here for it and they do seam like they will be fun to use in mixed media.
