AAA Cards - Game #83 Shape your LOVE

Hello everyone,

We are up with a new challenge and love is in the air over at AAA Cards!

I started with a piece of Bristol smooth card stock and used my Mission Gold watercolours.  I just love the colours and they are so creamy.  Bristol isn't the best for heavy watercolouring but I like the results I get when I use it.

I then cut a heart out of the top part of the panel with the heart stax dies from MFT and saved the die cut for another project.  I added piece of acetate to the back along with foam tape to create the shaker  and filled it with wonderful sequin goodies from Studio Katia. I then placed the card base on to the shaker part and it was pretty easy to do when the base and panel are the same size.  You can just line them up and press it down.

I then took a scrap piece of white card stock and cut out a banner from WPlus9 and stamped the sentiment from "What does the Fox say" from Studio Katia's November release with Hero Arts black ink. I adhered it to the front panel with Tombow Mono.

We have an extra option for this challenge, in addition to the love theme you might like to shape up your card. It could be long and thin, a rounded square, circular, heart shaped or any other shape you can imagine, just make sure to keep it LOVE themed and CAS.

Welcome to the Family - Studio Katia November 2016 Release

Hello everyone,

I'm very excited and honoured to be joining Studio Katia for their November Release which is now in the shop.  Here is just one of the cards that I've created with this amazing release.

I wanted to create a shaker card because there are so many pretty sequins I wanted to show them off.  I started by cutting out an A2 sized card panel and used a same sized rectangle die to clean up the edges.  I then took the elongated octagon dies and cut out a frame, which I set aside for another project.  I added a piece of acetate to the back of the panel and then added the middle octagon to the front so it would have something to adhere to.  I then added foam tape to the back to create my shaker.

I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts black die ink. I then stamped the adorable fox and two hearts with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with orange embossing powder and the fussy cut them out.

I added the shaker part to the card base and made sure it opened the right way (yes, that has happened more times then I care to admit). I added the fox and hearts to the card as well as a few of the same sequins that are inside the shaker.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon.

AAA Cards - Game 63 - CAS Shakers

Hello everyone,

We are back with another challenge and CAS Shakers.

Our sponsor for this game is Stampendous and you get a chance to win a $20 gift certificate!  Thanks Stampendous!

Stampendous

For my card today I used some bits and pieces from my stash.  I have lots of watercolored backgrounds that are just waiting to be turned into a project.  This is the Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and is one of my many favourites.

I recently bought some Stick-it and this is the first project that I used it on and wow!  That stuff is amazing and man is it strong!  It sure made putting this shaker together a lot easier.

I kept the dies together and cut out a piece of acetate as well as some fun foam with the Stick-it on both sides and added that to the front panel.

I cut out the thanks die from the same watercolour background and added fun foam to the back as well to give it dimension.

I added the Lucy's Little Things sequins pack in phosphorescence and added another piece of acetate. I find by adding a back panel to the shaker itself helps me add it straight on the card base.  I get a little perturbed when things aren't straight.

Merry Christmas shaker card

Hello everyone,

I'm here with a shaker card today.  I didn't have much luck with my last shaker card I made (which was also my first one) but I love the little penguins from Mama Elephant that I just couldn't resist trying again.

I used the Arctic Penguins stamp set and I coloured the little penguin with C1 and 0 and used BG70 for the ice.  I used with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the images. I do have the dies but for this one I wanted to fussy cut the images.  I am one of those who doesn't mind fussy cutting as long as I don't have to do too much of it!  :)

I also use the new Mama Elephant Peek A Frame dies and I used the window die to make the shaker.  I ran the it through my Cuttle Bug and then turned the die around and ran it through again so that it would cut both sides as one side only scores the paper.

I used Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear 6mm sequins along with some Simon Says Stamp itty bitty 2mm sequins that came in a card kit and unfortunately can no longer remember which one.  I used the  rectangle die from the Femme Frames die set to cut out the vellum and used an A2 sized card base to put everything one.

I used the Merry Christmas die from Simon Says Stamp from last year's Christmas release and cut that out of shimmer paper I bought at Michaels.  I used Sea Glass SSS ink to stamp out the snow which is from the Arctic Penguins set.
