Holiday Card Series - Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,

I'm back with more cards for my Holiday Card Series.

I have a set of cards that a coworker ordered and these were fun and easy to make.

I started out with Canson XL watercolour paper and cut out A2 sized panels.  I used my Koi watercolours and unfortunately they don't have names.

I added the colour the each panel with water and then heat set them between layers.  I added a little at a time to get the depth of the hard and soft lines.  Once they dried I added some splatter with some black paint from the same palette.

I took the Merry Christmas sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp and I die cut it four times out of metallic paper that I found at my local dollar store.  I adhered them to the watercolour panels and then added those to regular card stock card bases.

For these cards I pulled out my distress stains in Barn Door and Tattered Rose and Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass and just stamped them all over the paper and the sprits them with my Distress sprayer.
After they dried I added some gold and silver splatter with the same colour distress inks.

I then cut out more of the Merry Christmas sentiments from the same paper as the ones above and adhered them to the card with Tombow Mono.  Once that was all done I added the panels to regular card stock card bases and called them done.

So Suzy Stamp GD - Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,

I'm back again with another Christmas card for you and for my Holiday Card Series.  I decided to use the new to me Colour Burst in Alizarin Crimson which is a gorgeous Christmas red.

I added the Colour Burst to the paper and you DON'T need a lot.  When you add it to the paper, it doesn't even seam like there is anything there but look at the stages it goes through below when you add the water.

After the panel as completely dry I die cut it out with a stitched rectangle.  I also sent the panel through my die cutting machine a few more times to help flatten it out.

I took the watercoloured panel and using my mini MISTI I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment with Versamark ink (which is a clear sticky ink) and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I added some fun foam to the back of the panel and adhered it to the card base.  I then added dots from the Nuvo Crystal Drops in white to finish off the card.

Don't forget!

Holiday Card Series - Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,

I have another card for my Holiday Card series.  I used some of the images I coloured during Kathy Racoosin's colouring challenge.

As soon as I coloured these up, I knew exactly the card I was going to make with them.  And so I did!

I stamped and coloured in the images with my copics and then I ran them through my die cutting machine and then added them to the panel with foam tape. I then cut out a square panel using white card stock from Recollections using the SSS stitched square dies.

As I put the stencil down onto the paper with from Winnie & Walter, I added it diagonally and then ink blended some Fog ink from Simon Says Stamp.  I then popped it up onto a square card base with fun foam. I am liking that stuff more and more for creating dimension on my cards. Especially since I'm one of those who gets so involved with the card I end up forgetting to stamp the sentiment until the card is put together.  This way even if I forget, there is enough support under the panel that I can still add it to the card without destroying the whole card.

After that was all done, I die cut the word merry three times out of black card stock from Lawn Fawn with a SSS word. It actually comes all together as Merry Christmas and I just cut off the Christmas part and stamped it instead. Unfortunately it has been so long since I did this card I can't remember which set the Christmas came from.  But there are many stamps set that would work.

To finish off the card I used a white Signo gel pen and added the little dots and dashes to the flower.

Thanks for stopping  by, see you again soon!

Happy Holidays - Mint Owl Studio

Hello everyone,

Today I thought I would try and make an ornament.

I die cut the hexagon frames with white card stock and did some ink blending with Mint ink.  I used some black shimmer spray and added some splatter.  I cut out the same frame from fun foam to create the shaker well and then added the acetate and the Mint Owl Sequins mix and a few seed beads from my stash and then another piece of acetate to form a see-through window.  Then I added another frame to the back to finish off the shaker.

To make the hanger for the ornament I added some thick white thread and added it between the front panel and fun foam and added extra liquid adhesive.

I used the sentiment happy holidays from the Trim the Tree set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder on to a piece of black card stock that I cut out with a banner die.

So Suzy Stamp GDT December 7th, 2016

Hello everyone,

I hope you're having a great day so far.  I am very excited to be guest designing for So Suzy Stamps for the month of December.

For my first card I used the Flower Flourish stamp set.  Using my mini MISTI I heat embossed it on to bristol smooth card stock with white embossing powder.

I used my Zig markers to colour in the flourish image and then die cut it out with an stitched oval die.

I took the Merry Christmas stamp and heat embossed it onto vellum with sparkly black embossing powder.  By adding tiny dots of liquid adhesive to the back of the vellum where the sentiment is I adhered it to the front panel.  Once that was all done I took some fun foam and added it to the back of the panel and adhered it to the card base.

Now on to my card.  This is such a simple design and would be wonderful to mass produce.  You could even change up the colour on the die cut.

For my card I used the negative die cut from another card that you'll see soon in another post and added some distress ink around the top.  I then stamped some little circles with versamark ink and added the Hero Arts puff embossing power and heat set it.

I popped it up on foam tape and added it to an A2 size card base.  I then used the Hero Arts black dye ink to stamp the sentiment from another HA Christmas set I got from Michaels.

I hope you'll join us with our Christmas Challenge and remember to keep your cards CAS and have fun!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!
